After passing the woodland camps, the road curves to the west and crosses over the stream.  You can see it below, but not above as it travels beneath the road through a hydro tunnel.  Dunbar was an early adopter of electrical power and had a DC-Dynamo generated power station on Irishtown run.  Because low voltage DC power can not be transmitted over even moderate distances, the power had to be used adjacent to the generator.  That means that the old American Wire Glass plant must have been the consumer of this power.  The houses you approach as you cross the stream are all that is left of this industry.  The factory was demolished in the 70s.

For the curious, we have included images of inside the tunnel.  These pictures show all there is to see, so you are advised not to waste your time or risk injury by taking this route yourself.  Besides, even if you travel through the tunnel, you will only find the stream impassible a short distance above the tunnel.  You will have to return to either the Irishtown Run trail that you came down or walk up the paved road back to your vehicle.
