Not far above the windfall area, we
come to the first major tributary of Glade Run. Little
Piney Run flows from the east after dropping 300 feet in a
quarter of a mile! This stream has been one of the
major pollution sources for the Dunbar Watershed.
Consequently, it is now one of the tributaries selected for
the alkali sand project. So far, It looks like
the sand is doing its job. Above the project, the test
fish died. below almost all of them survived. In
fact fish released in the confluence area during and after
the study are still evident. THAT IS PROMISING!
