Now Dunbar is a
largely residential community, stubbornly and pragmatically
striving to reconcile the towns illustrious past with a
perplexing present and the unknown challenges of the future.
There are a few thriving business in and about town, but many
of the old commercial buildings in the business district are
now boarded up. There are more churches than bars in
this town, a somewhat unusual situation for a post-industrial
community with heavy industry roots. Only one of the
railroads shown on the map is still operational (Chessy
System, formerly the B&O) The rail yards near the
northern edge of the map are no longer in existence.
