Our tour of the Paved Road Section of Dunbar Creek begins just a little to the north of the State Game Lands Building at the confluence of Dunbar Creek with Tucker Run. There is a deep hole, just below the confluence which includes a maze of exposed sycamore roots. An excellent lie for large fish. A small stand of Giant "horsetail" Rush is an interesting but fragile feature next to the trunk of the sycamore tree.  As the stream continues past this point, we notice that the rate of fall has decreased dramatically.  The paved road section is characterized by long relatively flat riffle stretches with intervening rapids.
