Dunbar Creek, Dirt Road Section Tour (Page 2 of 22)
First Crossing

The First Crossing
We begin our tour of the Dirt Road Section of Dunbar Creek at the Crossing, just beyond the gate at the end of the Dirt Road. To the left, just upstream of the crossing, you can see the stepping stones. This is the preferred route for crossing the stream on foot, as the area below the rocks (where the road crosses) usually has numerous fish in it. If you spook them, they will hide under the large stepping stones on the upstream side of the ford.

Downstream of the Ford
This is a view of the stream, looking down from the ford. Almost every small pool in this area has several wary trout.
